Fee-free and open-access scholarship is more important than ever, providing a fuller picture of religious and spiritual people and practices, particularly in a time in which the loudest voices have communicated to the broader public (and especially younger people) an almost exclusively negative role of religion when it comes to matters of gender and sexuality.
